Bloudan
Bloudan, perched high at around 1,550 meters above sea level in the mountains northwest of Damascus, is a jewel of Syria’s summer resorts, famed for its crisp air, low humidity, and sweeping views over the lush Zabadani plain. Encircled by forests of pine and almond trees, the town bursts into bloom in spring, while in summer its cool breezes draw visitors escaping the heat of the lowlands. Natural springs like Ain al Bayda and Ain al Nsour add to its charm, alongside historic treasures such as Saint George’s Monastery and the serene Mar Elias Valley. In winter, a blanket of snow transforms Bloudan into a peaceful alpine retreat, its red roofed houses and mountain slopes offering a scene as picturesque as it is tranquil. This blend of natural beauty, seasonal variety, and deep-rooted heritage has made Bloudan a beloved destination for generations.
